Marc Doutherd is a modern day renaissance artist. A master of all visual artforms.Both 2D and 3D applications.Self taught,he started creating images on outside surfaces using charcoal,Pencil,Calk,and crayon. Any free surface space he could find. As a result,hecan render an images on any surface with any medium,free hand,from photo realism,to abstract. There seems to be no limitations in terms of his creative ability. He has worked on Murals for the Boys and Girls Club of America in Los Angeles,California,painting 40 by 60 ft. renderings of prominent people.He possesses a brilliant use of color and an innate sense of what will work within a particular environment. His artistic disiplines include Lithography,Illustration,Painting(all mediums),Graphic Design,Leather tanning and design work,Native American Arts(traditional bead and ornamental design,basket weaving,wood carving)Jewelry Creation,Sculpture,Glass Blowing,Musical Instrument making,Music writing(jazz and classical compositions)and he also play 40 musical and percussion instruments professionally. Became a member of the Musicians Union at 12.In vocation He has worked as a residential and commercial carpenter/framer.In the area of education Marc grduated from MtI with an AS in Micro Electronics. Secured a position with NEC Electronics in Roseville Ca.,designing micro circuitry for silicon wafer fabrication.Marc has recieved notoriety in the San Francisco Tribune,San Francisco Chronicle,LA Times,The Sacramento Bee,an on radio and television station KOVR Sacramento.He has paricipated in several International art competetions,including the Novell International Art Show,placing best of show in Graphite Pencil Work and the European International World Oil Painters competition ,winning a Silver Medal(2nd place).Marc was responsible for coordinating and creating benefit art shows for the homeless,including one at the Horizon Cafe in Roseville California. Marc donated is time at Christmas of 2006 to draw portraits of all of the children, free of charge at the Battered Womans Shelter in San Francisco.Marc is currently working on advocacy work on behalf of Native American concerns,Finishing work on a show to be viewed in Paris,a biography written by me(Kirk Parker)and published by McGraw Hill,and last but not least completing work on a Jazz CD in which he has written and performed all musical instumments parts which is produced by Danny Thomas,Keyboardist from the group Con Funk Shun.Pretty busy guy if you ask me.In closing I would just like to say one more thing. Marc was also homeless and had someone give him a chance to have a chance.He feels very strongly about the homeless problem and wants to truly help in any way he can.If this very busy man can extend his hand out then so can we all.
