Ah for Gratitude!

Ah for the rainbows of serenity
Which join us as arms ‘round waists
And smiles as faces of sun
Delight in simple things of hands
Small tasks of many joined in circles of grace
Create a circumference of genius
Of marshmallows and flames lapping
Of windy hair and canvas blankets
And morning air and meditation
A communion of kindred spirits found
In long lost paradise, a round up
Of hula-hoop jumpers and jumper cables
Faded jeans of humility with sweet messy faces
And the wishes of fascination.
Floating on the waters we open and give
Exhale and reminisce like photographs
Of time well spent in tents of safety
Togetherness bowing to a morning rainbow
Arching in the sky in faces of ah!
Gratitude in frailty and strength and love
Only found at the end of the road
Opening the door to renewed life
In the spring of gratitude and mutual awe.
